About Occasions, LLC

Janel Schlit graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA in Sociology in 1998. Soon after she began her career in the event business as a Catering Assistant to the Director of Catering at Maplewood Greens Golf Club in Seattle, WA. There she developed her passion for detail orientated work and learned the ropes of the event industry. Soon after she became the Director of Catering at Maplewood Greens.

In 2001 Janel started Occasions, LLC with the hopes of planning about 10-15 weddings a year. Now after doing over 200 weddings she gladly accept about 25 weddings a year along with special corporate events.

Janel is currently a member of N.A.C.E. (National Association of Catering Executives) and A.B.C (Association of Bridal Consultants). She regularly attends I.S.E.S (International Society of Event Specialists). She's learned how valuable it is to network with other industry professionals and consistently continue her education. The wedding and event industry is constantly changing and growing with different people, companies and trends! She's an honored member of Junebug Weddings, a focused group of women on the cutting edge of what is new in the wedding industry.
